Robert Goetschkes is an accomplished education professional with an impressive 25-year classroom management and instruction track record. His extensive experience has enabled him to develop a robust portfolio of skills, including curriculum development for public schools, refining teaching methodologies, and fostering strong relationships with students.

Currently, Goetschkes dedicates his critical thinking skills and passion for efficiency to his full-time position at the Leeward Light Charitable Foundation, where he excels as a warehousing professional.

Growing up in Mahopac, a suburban community of New York City, Goetschkes drew inspiration from his father, who served as both a firefighter and a plumber. His father's heroism ignited his desire to make a difference, prompting him to join the Coast Guard during the first Gulf War.

After completing his education at Mahopac High School in New York City in 1984, Goetschkes pursued further studies at SUNY Oneonta. There, he immersed himself in history and economics and even had the opportunity to engage in foil fencing, graduating in 1988. He continued his educational journey by earning a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, complemented by a Field Endorsement in Secondary Social Sciences.

Throughout his educational pursuits and career, Goetschkes demonstrated unwavering determination. Working three part-time jobs year-round and shouldering the financial responsibility for his college degree exemplified his can-do attitude, which persisted during his 11-year service in the U.S. Coast Guard. His exceptional dedication earned him entrance into the esteemed Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Fraternity in 2002.

Inspired to expand his education beyond U.S. borders, Goetschkes joined the U.S. Peace Corps after college. Living and serving in Tonga for two and a half years, he engaged in community-based service, establishing meaningful connections, nurturing relationships, and giving back to the global community.

During his time abroad, Goetschkes had the opportunity to travel to India, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, cultivating a global perspective that greatly influenced his teaching approach. Over his 25-year teaching career, he successfully molded the minds of numerous students, empowering them with a broader understanding of the world.

Goetschkes' unwavering commitment to education and diverse experiences have made him a well-rounded professional. He continues to inspire students, encouraging them to embrace a global outlook while striving for their full potential.
