Robert Jones:

Lead guests on single-day and multi-day mountain biking adventures. My responsibilities included rigging vans and trailers, safe driving, campground set up and tear down, preparing meals, insuring safe adventures, and keeping positive relationships with and between the guests.

Rode with 30 cyclists across the U.S. starting from Portsmouth, NH, and ending in Bellingham, WA. During the 81-day journey, 17 days were spent on volunteer affordable housing build sites. Fundraised $5,010 personally, and $182,000 as a team.

Implemented sustainability measures relating to energy, water, and waste. Aspects of my work included project management, staff presentations, creating a campus-wide sustainability plan, and college classroom presentations.

Facilitated process of allocating student fee measure funds to sustainability projects by way of committee. I oversaw 29 applications and granted $180,000 dollars to 18 projects.

Worked to complete energy-efficiency projects at UC Santa Cruz. I organized facets of projects with my team including project implementation plan, forming budget, conducting research, making calculations, purchasing equipment, and project implementation.

Served as a link between UCSC and the parents, alumni, and friends of UCSC. Encouraged these people to support UCSC with donations in order to sustain and better the quality of education and student life at UCSC.
