The California Police Athletic Federation, a non-profit organization established in 1970, is the governing body for the United States Police & Fire Championships, the World Police & Fire Games and the NEW World Police & Fire Winter Games. Our mission is to promote sport and physical fitness among personnel representing law enforcement, fire, corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs. I had to opportunity to help plan The United States Police and Fire Championships, which are held in San Diego, with athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs from across the country compete in Olympic-style sports in 35 venues through-out the county. I was happy to work on a team and bring our ideas to life. Having a small team I had to wear many hats where I was happy to research and bring vendors to our event, plan 10 separate social events through out the week which included a motorcycle ride that incorporated over 200 bikes roaring through the streets to kick off the Championships. I also would go to community events to spread the word about the games by interacting with the public. In order to piece all of the small details together I had to be organized and on top of everything at all times. Responsibilities: • Develop Marketing Strategies to increase participation (direct marketing, face to face, media relations) • Partner with Sponsors and vendors to fund Non-Profit Organization • Organize and execute 50 sports for U.S. Police and Fire Championships • Manage social events team to ensure all events are successful and fall within budget
