• Supporting Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) - Naval Base San Diego • Subject Matter Expert assessing hydraulic and piping systems on the fleet • Help diagnose and report hydraulic problems in stern gates, controllable pitch propeller systems, boat davits, steering systems, & cranes • Review ship system drawings & NAVSEA manuals to find technical solutions • Interface with ship captains & chief engineers to clearly explain systems malfunctions as well as the plan for maintenance • Create Departure from Specification documents & respond to Engineering Service Requests to help maintain ship underway & deployment schedules

Working alongside Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) at Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) - Naval Base San Diego • Subject Matter Expert assessing the fleet & analyzing structural components (e.g., stringers, stiffeners, & bulkheads) inside tanks, voids, engine intakes, & uptakes • Perform cross-section analyses of structural components to generate reports in accordance with technical manuals (MIL-STD- 1689, CCAM, & NSTM 100) which are then relayed to NAVSEA for maintenance purposes • Review ship drawings to find material properties at specific locations & to give guidance to maintenance team • Assess any material deformities such as deflection, buckling, cracking, pitting, corrosion, material wastage • Perform calculations on structural members to find maximum allowable material loss for the structures to perform safely • Helped create an Ultrasonic Testing (Non-Destructive Testing) course to familiarize our department with UT machines for analysis of ship structures • Work on multiple classes of ships such as: LCS, DDG, LPD, LSD, CG, LHD

• Assisted UCSD Prototyping Lab in building laboratory animal behavioral boxes • Laboratory rats would respond to stimuli (e.g. sounds or flashes) by sticking their nose into specific ports • Wired & soldered the port sensors to be connected to a Raspberry Pi for data gathering • Helped redesign the previous boxes to make them more compact using SolidWorks & AutoCAD • Provided clear procedural documentation for sub-teams & helped maintain Bill of Materials
