Public Relations Intern

Stefanie Schulz is a senior at the University of Oregon majoring in public relations and minoring in Spanish. Stefanie is very outgoing, hard-working, enthusiastic, and compatible with everyone. She is currently an account executive at Allen Hall Public Relations working for the nonprofit organization called The Friendship Foundation for International Students. Additionally, she is on the Membership Committee for the University of Oregon chapter Public Relations Student Society of America.

When Stefanie isn't in school or participating in extracurricular activities, she is either traveling, skiing, or enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. She was born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, thus making it her goal to eventually do in-house public relations for a major ski company or resort. Her mother is from Chile and she has dual citizenship. This gave her the opportunity to spend a lot of time down in South America when she was growing up enabling her to have advanced Spanish speaking skills. After college, Stefanie hopes to start her career working in an agency with clients that relate with her passions, or she aspires to work in the marketing sector to promote a brand she loves.

• Draft and edit press releases
• Create Facebook and Twitter posts for Lane Community College, Willamette
 Valley Company and Funk/Levis & Associates
• Formulate Facebook contest for the Lane County Fair
• Assess and chart vertical markets in the Lane County area
• Shadow client meetings
• Pitch ideas to help create client slogans and events

Marketing and Public Relations Intern

Allen Hall Public Relations was founded in 2000 to provide the University of Oregon’s best and brightest an opportunity to showcase their ability to construct and implement a public relations campaign to maximize results for small businesses and nonprofits. The agency has grown through great results, referrals, and a vested interest in its clients.  It is comprised of 60 students and 14 account teams.

• Collaborate with team of two to promote nonprofit organization The Friendship Foundation 
for International Students (FFIS)
• Organize weekly meetings with client to establish goals and present completed work
• Create and maintain organization's social media highlighting programs and events
• Draft 200-400 word articles for bi-monthly electronic newsletter distributed to 650 participants
• Establish partnerships with community and UO campus clubs and organizations to promote FFIS 
opportunities and increase membership
• Distribute flyers throughout UO campus locations and community to

• Collaborate with team of 15 to devise startegies to boost UOPRSSA membership
• Present to businesses, marketing and journalism classes highlighting the benefits and activities of 
UOPRSSA

Membership Committee

• Promoted UO Toastmasters by tabling at campus events to emphasize the importance of public speaking
• Recapped meetings and sent out meeting reminders on chapter’s social media

Vice President of Public Relations

• Collaborated with 40 students studying journalism to form a online publication to raise environmental awareness through readership
• Implemented a digital strategy plan with other PR coordinators on the development team
• Increased Envison’s Facebook likes by 15 percent in January 2013

Public Relations Coordinator

• Completed intensive Spanish language courses which included private and group lessons
