Having worked in the advertising and printing business for over 20 years, I worked every possible position from premedia to prepress and quality contro/proofreading.I found that my true passion was proofreading and editing collateral materials from POPs to circulars to flyers and outdoor design. My proofreading skills are not limited to just copy mistakes, but also in the aesthetics of the creative piece.Before sending a job to be printed, I will preflight the complete job, not only looking for potential mistakes, but also to making sure that the piece is printer-ready. I have found potential mistakes before the job went to press. I've worked at RRDonnelly for over eight years proofreading all collateral materials and also proofreading and correcting the Spanish versions therefore capturing mistakes and/or keeping the translations consistant (which seems to be a problem when you utilize various translators). I'm also the librarian for a proprietary data asset management system (DAM), inputting all the information of every job which includes manufacturer, trim size, SKUs, etc. for ease of file retrieval. I have also translated all the menu-driven copy from english to spanish for this proprietary software including training materials.
