Creative & Design

Todd Bischoff is a creative visionary with over 20 years of experience in the outdoor industry. As an award-winning creative leader his passion goes to brands in the outdoor space that want to do transformative work, and that is why he chose to join ROKA. As the VP of Creative he leads a diverse team of talented individuals responsible for growing the brand's global identity and creative marketing for today's customers. 

Before joining ROKA, he served as the creative lead for several outdoor industry brands, leading creative, photography and production. Prior to those roles, he was a graphic designer for multiple agencies across the continent. He would argue that his career really began as a child who was obsessed with drawing animals in nature, but the reality is it started in college when he designed his first logo and built his first homemade camera. 

Passionate about the outdoors and dedicated to the craft, Todd believes that great design at minimum should seduce, shape or evoke an emotional response. And to limit your space is to limit your ideas. Which is why his office chair is the chair lift and his creative meetings start at the trailhead.

VP of Creative

Everyone claims to be the best. But to be the best, you have to stand out, go beyond trend. 

As designers, we see the world in a different way. And as Matt Mattus states “Power is in the hands of the creative, the power to change lives with a single image–a photo, drawing, concept, structure, vehicle, aircraft, garment or anything else that the creative mind can invent. Remember that design itself may be as simple as art, but it also can be defined as the ultimate human expression.”

Freelance Creative - Side Hustle 

Responsible for demonstrating stellar communication, problem-solving and project management skills in order to inspire creativity and build the Brand. The GCD directs the creative look, feel and voice of the brand while maintaining a consistent brand presence in all internal and outward facing touch points. All while juggling various projects, the GCD brings to life compelling brand stories through photography and videos. This includes art directing, scouting, sourcing talent, recruiting athletes, managing the annual budgets, and establishing a seasonal development plan that supports all campaign needs.

DUTIES:
+ Directs the creative process from concept to completion, including campaigns, photography and video for multiple brands
+ Manages collaborations with external agencies and partners through global campaigns and new product introductions
+ Leads communication strategy through PR, paid media, and social media
+ In charge of ambassador program and brand partnerships that strategically align with brand DNA and shared values
+ Oversees global packaging design, engineering, sustainability and innovation
+ Translates marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
+ Leads, mentors and directs 6+ creatives in the production of all marketing collateral
+ Meets with Leadership Team and Upper Management to align campaign strategies and solutions
+ Remains actively involved in hiring and training creative staff

Global Creative Director

• Responsible for the Go-to-Market responsibilities and accurate project management of all SmartWool retail support including: fixture design, POP and POS.

• Applies the SW Brand filters towards product and Brand photo shoots for print and web use; including budget oversight, price negotiations, overall production of shoot, author of creative briefs, art direction, locations, models, logistics, color correction and proofing process

• Inspire and empower as the brand team leader by facilitating and interpreting the seasonal marketing, eComm and sales needs

• Eats, breathes, sleeps the SmartWool Brand in order to effectively lead the creative direction of workbooks, photography, print collateral, and other multi-media pieces

• Manage and mentor the Global Graphic Designers, including oversight of all creative briefs, time lines, process development and final product

• Collaborate, assist and co-brand with other Outdoor Coalition brands in the VF Corp. family (such brands include The North Face, Timberland, Vans and Reef)

Global Brand Creative Manager

• Responsible for designing against integrated marketing and advertising objectives for web and print

• Responsible for building and maintaining client relationships from concept to completion

• Attends/participates/leads in client meetings, subsequently presenting all projects to the client against the stated objectives
