Demand planning for the Burton surf/skate brands involves coordinating multiple categories, with different lead times, through multiple distributions centers to deliver on different in store
dates, all over the world.
Job responsibilities included:
• Calendar creation and management
• Forecasting, Demand and Production scheduling for five global regions. (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia) including coordination with Sales, Operations, and Product
Development
• Daily communication with offshore vendors, regional offices, and the Asian Distribution
Center (Shenzhen, China)
• Inventory management for seasonal carryover goods
• Purchasing: Managing orders to 25+ vendors for 4 brands, in 7 countries
• Purchasing: Regional balancing per vendor, per region, per season
• Vendor/Production Management: vendor managed inventory, vendor capacity planning,
and production prioritization
• Transportation: Air/Sea analysis, per vendor, per region, when necessary.Continual
communication with designated freight forwarders and couriers
• Seasonal Oversold/Undersold Reporting per brand
• Product Data management; mapping materials season to season, year over year.
• Leveraging tools: Daily use of Business Intelligence (via SAP) and advanced Excel
