- Driving technical, esthetic and functional alignment in sampling from concept to design approval. Managing direct reports. - Contributing cost saving measures to meet both design intent and target margins. - Creating and maintaining visual tools, cross-collection standards, design details, integrity of the product and Coach brand. - Directing prototype reviews, offering solutions for improvements in esthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality and workmanship. - Partnering with design team creating cad options for bag components, hardware and tech packs. - Maintain and manage information required for Tools of the Trade / Customs Complience. - Manage approval of proto samples within the Product Development Timeline (PDT) deadlines. - Review prototype samples with a focus on product execution, consistency of details and an understanding of Design’s aesthetic intent. - Partner with the NY Workshop / Coach Sampling Room / on early development sampling. - Create, manage and maintains development activities using various tools: ecVision sample modules, material modules, development logs, material and hardware matrices, design cards, and functionality charts. - Act as a knowledge sharing hub/conduit for information and owns communication of development with cross-functional partners (PD, Design, Merchandising, Materials, Production, NY Workshop, and overseas’ teams). - Build relationships with internal and external partners that facilitate synergy and collaboration. - Partner with IS and business partners to suggest improvements and efficiencies within our systems. - Owns and attends Design Review Meetings (DRMs).
