Engineer responsible for level-3 support by configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network equipment (including Cisco Routers, Switches, ASAs via CLI and ASDM, VoIP, CUE, WLAN, Meraki Wireless and Firewalls, and low-latency/low-bandwidth Video Streaming) for over 50 separate global networks of offshore oil rigs, support vessels, and warehouses. Set up IPSEC tunnels between remote sites and corporate LAN. Built tunnels between client sites and production networks to provide network monitoring and data/video-streaming services. Ensured redundant connectivity and proper TDMA fleet-shared 4Mbps bandwidth utilization by relying on “VSAT while offshore” and “4G/LTE when at dock” with 4K, 2900 and 810 series Cisco routers. Maintained documentation and standardization for frequently changing environments using MS Visio, MS Office, Google Docs Suite, and Jira ticketing system. Assisted with the design and installation a Cisco wireless system for an autonomous, trackless amusement ride at Universal Studios, FL and Disney California Adventures as part of a team. Utilized OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols to allow for as close to absolute seamless roaming between access points to maintain proper communication with the controls systems. Spearheaded design and configured network for Oceaneering’s mobilization multiple new Oceaneering support vessels. Configured (per site) CUE on CME for 40+ VOIP phones including desk, conference, and wireless phones. Implemented latest standard of Meraki wireless to allow for cloud control for VoW and WLAN activity for over 100 end-users. Assisted technicians in setup of LAN for Haivision IPTV and DirectTV network utilizing a VideoFurnace, Makito encoders, Mantaray set-top boxes, and CoolSign media displays while ensuring local video traffic would not impact the operations network but still maintain remote management reachability.
