DON'T BE FOOLED!!!
...by some manufacturer's claims that "long Range Bluetooth Communication" is a viable alternative to the COLLETT's much higher powered 900Mhz Helmet Communicators. Here are some of the differences you should look for:
1) Because Bluetooth Communicators use a DUPLEX SYSTEM it can only be used between two riders at the same time. With COLLETT Communicators there is "no limit" to the number of user's ... thus Club rides are possible with COLLETT Communicators but definitely not with Bluetooth Communicators. Some of our Clubs have 50+ Communicators in the riding group so no one is ever left out of the action.
2) Because of the short range of the Bluetooth devices "side by side" riding is most times necessary for keeping a constant "connection" between riders. The units can "disconnect" from each other easily, which means time is lost getting closer together so they will re-connect and the communication can continue. With COLLETT Communicators rider to rider operating ranges of up to 2 miles are possible ...where as 300 to 500ft is the best we have ever witnessed with Bluetooth while riding.
3) Most, if not all, Bluetooth "bike to bike" Communicators on the market use only one speaker. The user's ability to comprehend communication above the high ambieint motor and wind noise experienced in the real world makes most one speaker system useless over 30MPH. Also impossible to enjoy good stereo music. - COLLETT guarantees super clear communication and great stereo sound at highway speeds with all our products. - COLLETT uses Bluetooth technology for what it was intended for...... to enhance the riding experience by wirelessly connecting the rider's helmet to multiple devices such as cell phones, GPS units, and MP3 players. In Short..... Long range communication with multiple (more than 2) riders is just not possible with "any" Bluetooth bike to bike Communicators. ONLY THE COLLETT COMMUNICATORS!
