Men's Apparel & License Buyer
*Maintain seasonal assortment and vendor plans to maximize business and tie back to OTB
* Review with management team on previous month business, trends and go forward strategies while collaborating with planners, analysts and online merchandisers
* Negotiate firmly with vendors: cost, payment terms, co-op money, returns/exchanges, freight/terms of delivery, opportunity buys, etc. while building strong vendor relationships (Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Quiksilver, O’Neill, Billabong, Hurley)
* Review and develop product lines and assortments to achieve budgeted sales and maximize gross margin
* Seek new vendors and develop new categories, trends and exclusives
* Partner with vendors to spearhead new product marketing campaigns and local team support
* Buy for 50 teams across all major sports leagues (NHL, MLB, NBA, MLS, NCAA, NFL)
* Work closely with Director of Consumer Licensing for the major sports leagues to ensure Sport Chalet supported teams are marketed during the regular season and playoffs
* Handle all “Hot Market” product for NBA, MLB, NCAA, NFL, NHL
* Maintain accountability for all inventory management
* Take ownership of relevant eCommerce categories and business
* Procure and supervise the expenditure of all vendor co-op advertising funds
* Work with merchandising teams to create exciting in-store displays and merchandising directives leading to increased sales and profit opportunities
* Develop a connection to our consumer through our lifestyle brand
* Work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
* Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills along with a passionate understanding of retail merchandising
* Manage and execute strategic projects as assigned
* Main apparel contact person through company acquisition
