Andrew Haala: Design Engineer III in Chicago, IL

As one of a small team of engineers, I am responsible for the design and implementation of upgrades to existing products as well as the creation of new products. These actions involve both the design of in-house manufactured parts as well as sourcing equipment from vendors. Given our organization, many of these projects are self-initiated, responding to changes in the marketplace and the demands of our customers to better satisfy their needs. Due to the size of our team, I'm also responsible for customer documentation and correspondence, creating understandable and comprehensive manuals. I am also the company's compliance engineer, insuring that our product meets the applicable design and safety standards. This includes extensive experience specifying and analyzing tests, as well as obtaining new lab equipment when necessary.

Handle the full design of complicated mechanical systems, including end-use analysis, piping and instrumentation layouts, and equipment sizing and mechanical requirements. Develop instructional documentation and assist in the commissioning of systems.
