Financial Accounting • Improved overall financial performance of the Zimbabwean operations from loss making unit into a profit making unit by detailed financial analysis and informed decision making on each cost and profit centre. • Reviewed full cycle accounting and assisted the Finance Manager in maintaining books of accounts as per statutory reporting requirements of 36 supermarkets, 2 warehouses and a manufacturing unit. • Analyzed and reconciled accounts receivable (AR) and payable (AP) ledgers ensuring adherence to company policy. • Regular verification for completeness in accounting system and provided recommendations for improving efficiency and strengthening internal controls. • Engaged external and internal auditors for closure of queries and finalization of audits. • Assisted and reviewed Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) budgets for presentation to Board of Directors.
