Avarie Graham: Graphic Designer in City of Hamilton

Gibbons Company is the largest and most fashion forward department store in Bermuda. As their sole Graphic Designer, I am responsible for the design, layout and formatting of print and web materials as well as development and research of images and concepts. Through Gibbons Company, I have had the opportunity to work with renowned brands from around the world including Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, MAC, Lancome, L’Occitane, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Versace, Gap, Mango, Desigual and more.

As visual merchandiser and sales associate at Orange Bay Company I was responsible for selling and staging unique vintage and contemporary furniture, framed fine art, one-of-a-kind accessories and select designer clothing. I was also responsible for hand selecting each piece for quality and condition.

As design intern at the BUEI I was responsible for designing various museum exhibits, animation content, branding and promotional marketing material which included flyers, tickets and brochures for the business.

This role entailed promoting certain brand products such as Red Bull Energy Drink, Coopertone Sun Care, WKD Original Vodka island wide, while also selling brand merchandise and hosting events.

As sales associate, I was able to develop my communication skills while improving my customer service and cashier abilities.

This role involved assisting the Personal Lending Department at Clarien Bank with clients and their loan applications, answering questions about loans and the bank in general, as well as covering the receptionist’s desk.
