PRODUCTION/ TECHNICAL DESIGNER

Dedicated and enthusiastic product developer/ technical designer / designer with countless skills based upon industry experience. Highly organized, dependable, flexible, and a team player with a strong work ethic. Very experienced with wearing many hats!

- Spec samples prior to fittings and lead the fittings with the creative director to adjust samples as needed
- Make visual comments for samples that show the factory how to make corrections
- Create specs and tech packs to show the factory how to make the garment
- In charge of managing all aspects of production including keeping track of PO's, shipments, finding & pointing out errors from bulk
- Key person to communicate with vendors regarding tracking samples, garment changes, and any issues that need to be resolved
- Create excel spreadsheets and log important information. Keep record of POs, prices, and any design changes being made
- Maintain records of inventory, samples coming in and being shipped out
- Create line sheets using Indesign
- Create color studies in Photoshop, manipulating photos of garments to determine other potential color ways for a style
- Design repeat patterns using Illustrator and Photoshop
- Design new styles to add to each collection
- Update website using Shopify

- Create tech packs for the production team
- Supply all fabric and trim information for production
- Style set-ups in PDM
- Update sketches/cads based on changes made from both buyers and designers
- Prepare samples for market week

JUNIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATE TEMP

- Assist technical designer with all technical aspects in the design room
- Make comments to make sure proto, pre production, and shipment samples are made correctly
- Create tech packs and all technical packages
- Communicate with manufacturers and follow up with samples
- Help analyze garments to determine spec, construction, and fit
- Spec proto, pre-production, and QC garments that came in
- Use PLM as an online database to organize information and for creating tech packs
- Attend regular design meetings and take detailed notes
- Make sure all samples are coming in within a timely manner according to schedule
- Keep records on Excel of all tech packs going out, and samples coming in
- Check that garments are correct and have the right trims and construction
- Edit photos and create cads using Photoshop and Illustrator

- Visited factories and dye houses in Los Angeles to oversee production
- Set up and prepared for photo-shoots
- Prepared/set up/took notes for meetings with buyers
- Kept all important information organized and readily available
