Advanced Technolgy Manufacturing Center
Assistant Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer | 10/2003 - 05/2006
Mechanical Engineering Intern & Assistant Supervisor of ATMC Prototype Lab
Managed the Prototype Lab, CNC mill and lathe, manual machines, and tools. Supervised all undergraduate interns and clients in the prototype lab. Organized tasks and schedules to prioritize projects for three student interns from partnering vocational schools. Quoted work, CNC/manual machine upkeep, CAD/CAM, G-Code programming, ran CNC/Manual Machining mill and lathe, Welding TIG/MIG, sheet metal work, fabricated custom tools.
Mechanical Engineer Intern Ocean Server, Inc. (ATMC)
Specific projects included O-ring testing on pressurized underwater vessels, hydrodynamic analysis and testing, corrosive resistance and materials analysis of plastics and metals, and material manufacturability of plastics and metals. Other responsibilities included 3-D modeling and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks, organizing schedules, prioritizing tasks, achieving project goals, troubleshooting, project reports, bill of materials, and oral presentations to both costumers and engineering mangers.
Project:
Iver1 & Iver2 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)
Worked with Ocean Server’s engineering staff in the research and development of the General Purpose Iver AUV by design and fabrication of all prototypes, one-off parts/assemblies, and final design models and drawings. Incorporation of YSI sensor array into IVER2 Mobil Sensor Platform.
