Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design & develop cost save ideas from concept phase through the release
Resolve Quality issues by making appropriate design changes based on verbatim
Root cause Production issues by making proper investigation of the issues
Mockup parts as Design representative to understand potential issues before
implementation
Coordinate with program management team to keep up with the program timings
Regular meetings with Supplier program manager to get quotes for potential
changes on a part
Develop BOM for take rate complexity
Checking with finance team to ensure the quotes from supplier is accurate
Working with Tooling Engineers to ensure the changes would not have any Tooling
issues
Attend review meetings with Moldflow team to ensure appropriate Tooling changes
would not affect mold block and the part
Coordinating with Materials group to avoid any material related concerns
Work with Plant Labor team, Plant Vehicle team to make them understand the change if that would affect assembly process or not
Work with Studio on Design related concerns
Developing CAD with CAD team to reflect the Design changes
Coordinate with Dimensional Team on 2D Drawings & if any gage changes are
required
Supplier Plant visit to understand the manufacturing process & assembly process
Working & developing a plan with supplier to ensure the parts are made as
Designed
Establishing Test plans as required for PV/DV Testing
Ensure the release structure is structured right for all buildable combinations
Follow through the PPAP process
Work with Plant Assembly people for a smooth transition of changes
