I am an apparel designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in fashion design, a minor in marketing and fashion merchandising, and 15 years experience designing private and branded labels for nearly all major retailers and department stores. 

My experience and education has given me a comprehensive understanding of all stages and aspects of the apparel design process - from conception and product development - through manufacturing and on-time delivery. Over the past decade, I have focused on designing, coordinating, and approving all phases of trend development, color palates, and pattern selection, as well as providing direct interaction with vendors and manufacturers to meet strict deadlines.

After gaining this valuable experience, I recently launched my own apparel design advisory business, currently focusing on providing advisory services to a broad range of apparel-oriented business. I am able to provide valuable guidance to my clients on all phases of apparel design, trend development, color palates, and pattern selection, as well as offer direct interaction with vendors and manufacturers to help build and deliver a valuable final product.

After spending 15 combined years at two international apparel companies, I have recently launched an independent apparel advisory business. I am currently providing detailed consulting services to a broad range of apparel oriented business and start-up ventures. 

DRZ Design provides hands-on guidance with all phases of apparel design, trend development, color palates, sourcing, and pattern selection. It also provide direct interaction with clients' vendors and manufacturers to ensure deadlines are met and the final product is refined and fashion forward. DRZ Design also assists start-up companies and entrepreneurs take their vision for new innovative and unique apparel products from simply an idea to a marketable product.

Job Description:
  
•   Manage a team of apparel & CAD designers; train and supervise junior associates and interns.
•   Forecast on-trend styles illustrating the latest fashion trends, fabrics, and techniques
•   Interact with overseas mills and factories to ensure an efficient product development cycle
•   Manage process of men’s sportswear & dress shirt design (conception, sourcing, samples & pricing)
•   Travel to European & Asian markets for seasonal trend research and vendor review 
•  Develop action calendars to ensure strict deadlines are met with on-time delivery to retailers.
•  Apply knowledge of fabric constructions, finishes, & garment washes to ensure a premium product.
•  Develop original presentation boards and samples using on trend colors and silhouettes.
•  Travel regularly to give presentations to client design teams & buyers, and resolve any issues.

Job Description:

     •	Developed a branded label product with revenue of $23 million at Federated Department Stores 
     •	Approved lab dips, knitdowns, handlooms, and trims and address issues from mills and factories
     •	Created plaids, prints, dobbies, and sweater patterns using seasonal color palettes
     •	Developed sketches, woven and knit colorways, and catalogs in various CAD solutions
     •	Supervised product coordinators to guarantee design packages are accurate and complete
     •	Created seasonal lines including wovens, sweaters, knits, outerwear, suit separates, causal bottoms
     •	Strengthened and broadened brands’ assortment to appeal to a wider audience
     •	Reviewed specifications and interfaced with technical design team
     •	Provided inspiration to develop a common brand aesthetic for women, boys, swimwear, & hats licensees

•   Designed clothing featured in various television shows and movies including Miami Vice (Collin Farrell), Diners Drive-Ins & Dives (Guy Fieri), Dexter Series (David Zayas), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt)
•   Designed all staff uniforms the Super Bowl XLI in Miami (2007)

I was employed as Assistant Designer (Men's Sportswear) at The Apparel Group (TAG) from 2002-2004.  I left TAG to move to Miami, Florida in 2004 and returned to Dallas in 2007, rejoining The Apparel Group in 2007 where I am currently employed.
