Asics
Footwear Design Intern | 05/2011 - 08/2011
As a design intern, the bulk of the first few weeks were spent creating color CADs for the fall '12 line. Was assigned several shoes and was able to come up with creative color blocks using illustrator and photoshop. Also tasked to pick materials and parts. A handful of the concepts were picked to be presented to vendors.
A big project was handed to create the sole unit for a soccer shoe into a light running shoe. The concept was to incorporate more feminine design cues. Inspirations were taken from nature to give the shoe a more earthy feel.
Created graphics for sock-liners. The concept was to allow the user to get a boost of energy as they look down on their shoes to see different words of encouragement and motivation.
Created a two part project out of an existing sole unit. By sharing the unique sole, the idea was to have drastically different uses by creating two distinct uppers. One being a hiker, the other being a beach runner/nautical shoe.

K-Swiss
Footwear Design Intern | 01/2011 - 04/2011
As a creative intern, the first few projects were simple redesigns and facelifts for an existing shoe to give it a more modern look. With the outsole already provided, the task was to come up with creative upper designs. This was followed by picking color(color CADs), materials, as well as providing tech packs to have them developed. The outcome was a total of 3 samples, 1 classic tennis shoe, and 2 slip on boots.
The project that followed gave me the freedom to choose a theme as well as style for a certain demographic and interest.
These included studies in graphic design and art, and again, picking color and materials. The project yielded a series of sandals that were picked to be developed into production for FORM MMA.
A company that K-Swiss bought out, Palladium, issued a handful of boot projects. These included "Cold" versions of their signature boots, as well as rain boots, and strapped boots. All designs were original along with color, materials, and parts being carefully picked to meet budgets. The projects went into production and are due in the future.
