Jessica Liao: Design Product Development Assistant in Los Angeles, CA

Present new styles, design concepts, drapes and mock ups to the Creative Director each day for Design meetings. Work directly with Creative Director for styling, fittings, design direction. Create flat sketches by hand or Adobe Illustrator for each delivery. Prioritize work for Design Assistant, Patternmakers, Sample Makers, and Interns daily. Manipulate fabrics, prints, and color in Adobe Photoshop for CADs, graphics, and photo retouching. Manage estimate markers for best yield and highest cost efficiency through print meetings, re-engineering graphic prints, and placements. Direct print placement with Graphics to maximize yield while keeping design aesthetics. Initiate first patterns, pattern revisions, style concepts with pattern makers. Oversee sampling process- fabric, cutting, sewing, final review/distribution. Organizing each style using WebPDM to create folders, line sheets, design packages, production packages. Work with Technical Design, Production, Patternmaking, Merchandising, Marking and Grading, Graphics, Color, Fabric R&D, and Sample-making teams for full design and production process. Analyze line plans for each delivery to fulfill sales request for best sell-through. Coordinate Trim review, Color meeting, and Line Presentation for each delivery with all corresponding teams. Responsible for fabric orders, trim orders, and approving: duplicates, garment construction, color standards, fabric standards, and print placements.

• Illustrate technical design sketches with detail in embroidery, embellishments and intricate fabrics. Utilized Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for overall sketch and design enhancement. • Assist Product Development and Design team in upcoming deliveries- sketches, CADs, Fabric/trim R&D. • Perform efficiently under tight time frames and deadlines.
