Head Textile Designer / Graphics - Responsible for creating original textile designs, trim development. Also, works closely with the Marketing Department on season photo shoots, look books, and special presentations. Textile / Graphics Design Department: - Takes direction from Creative Director to lead the strategic development of Textile, Trim and special collateral for seasons. - Research resources, competitor websites, runway shows, style websites, and fashion magazines for trend inspirations - Utilize traditional hand-sketching and painting techniques in conjunction with Photoshop, Illustrator to execute textile designs, graphics, and layouts - Translate trend and inspirations into original designs, repeats, and color ways - Amend and re-color prints/artwork and color ways - Setting up textile artwork for rotary printing and digital printed fabric - Create tech packs with detailed specifications that include printout of designs, repeats, size of repeats, special treatments, print techniques, color swatches, art placement - Maintain design and print information in an organized electronic catalogue for easy access and reference - Create product presentation and mood inspiration boards. - May present products and concepts to Merchandising. - Tracks department printed sample and dupe yardage ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner. - Oversees printed fabric and color approvals for all samples and dupes. Also work closely with production yardage on color approvals. - Working with pattern makers and cutters on placing patterns for textile printed yardage - Developing new trims and hardware, working closely with trim vendor and creating original artwork for trims and hardware - Work collaboratively with Design Room Manager on trim costs and lead times. - Train, mentor, and Junior Graphic Designer by offering constructive critiques and guidance - Work with Marketing Team on photo shoots, look books, line sheets, and special presentations.
