Rightmove plc
Senior Designer | 03/2014 - 02/2015
(Contract)
Working as part of the marketing team alongside a Graphic Designer, my role is to meet the design and creative communication briefs set by your team, on time and to market-leading standard.
This was a truly varied role with a fairly even split over web and print based projects. In a short space of time I had the opportunity to help implement a new company wide marketing campaign moving from focussing on our position as Number 1 within our sector to a far more emotive ‘find your happy’ message.
Main responsibilities included:
• Book in all briefs, confirming accuracy and delegating and prioritise the project
• Mentor fellow designer to help aid their career progression
• Source best possible prices on a variety of print projects
• Check accuracy of all print proofs and sign off
• Bespoke and template HTML email design, coding and testing via Silverpop
• Creative support for large marketing campaigns: skins for London taxis, large format display banners, web banners etc
Staples
Print Production Manager/Designer | 09/2011 - 03/2014
This role incorporated translating Staples UK’s national marketing communication plan into a studio production schedule from which internal and external stakeholders worked to produce catalogues and relevant print material on time. I was also responsible for the efficient and timely organizing of paper stock, printing and mailing and full financial management of all catalogues, flyers direct mail and other ad-hoc material. This required an ability to react and produce contingency plans at short notice all the time remaining within the set budget constraints.
Main responsibilities included:
• Organise and oversee the large scale production of all DM vehicles and retail flyers
• Design DM pieces, emails, homepage banners and rebrand 508pp catalogue
• Ensure all projects are delivered to brief, within budget and to set timelines
• Improve processes and efficiencies
• Occassional HTML coding of emails
Liquid Lens Branding Solutions
Studio/Production Manager | 09/2006 - 09/2006
Entrusted with complete operational control of the production facility and studio in a fast growing
promotional products company. Whilst there the turnover for Liquid Lens increased from almost
£500k up to £1.5million per annum.
The studio team was made up of an artworker and 2 graphic/web designers. We were tasked
with creating websites for both sides of the business - systems sales and finished products - this
included shooting and editing HD videos along with regular updates and site maintenance. I also
arranged for the studio team to produce various eflyer promotions and in house catalogues.
I also managed 3 trained production operatives in order to ensure that work was completed on time. Where possible multiple jobs were combined to save time, resources and unnecessary wastage of materials.
This was another fast paced environment where flexibillty was key whilst always ensuring the highest quality of product was produced. Frequently working with blue chip clients like Barclays
