The tribe owns and operates among other economic enterprises the Valley View Casino, the Native Oaks Golf Club, and Horizon Fuel Center. As COO, I was honored to provide strategic and tactical direction and execution to the Tribe reporting directly to the Business Committee/Board of Directors. Responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Fire, Police, Public Works, Education Center, Housing, and Fire Academy. • Drove organizational improvements and cross department coordination resulting in significant annual surplus by decreasing overhead and costs. • Led continuous operations during COVID Pandemic. Adapted technology and processes for onsite and remote work. Prioritized and optimized the use of American Rescue Plan funds for critical infrastructure projects and aid to residents. • Established first tax code resulting in increased revenue from new tribal gas station. • Spearheaded tax credit program resulting in multi- million annual benefit for members. • Championed grant funding resulting in 100% increase in grants, and key relationships with the BIA, FEMA, EPA, HUD, and state agencies. • Pioneered innovative partnership with company to provide construction services in exchange for allowing operations on the reservation. • Developed & implemented first strategic plan for the Tribe. Immediate impact on improving the Tribe’s infrastructure, energy independence, and propel it into the future. Projects include construction of a microgrid, establishing a reclaim water system, adding three large potable water storage tanks, resurfacing of all roads, and developing a new housing project.
