SENIOR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MANAGER | 05/2023 - 10/2023
Led a multifunctional team of 9, overseeing Client Success Services, HR, and Financial Services. Mentored team for efficient project management and exceptional customer support. Managed customer support representatives, addressing technical issues and coordinating product training. Designed product guides and sales resources based on customer insights. Oversaw customer communications business transactions and ensured quality and timeliness. Handled onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and financial reporting.
Key Accomplishments:
• Taking ownership early in my position, I was elevated to a new leadership role within just two months of employment, where I had the responsibility of overseeing finance, HR, and customer service, complemented by my duties in project management. My strong communication and interpersonal skills were instrumental in:
• Offering consistent performance feedback, advising on project management techniques, and providing career mentorship to enhance leadership capabilities.
• Initiated and guided leadership team discussions centered on strategic priorities and essential operational decisions.
• Designing a comprehensive Customer Success Journey map to pinpoint and address any hindrances customers encounter throughout their journey.
• Establishing robust systems and frameworks that empowered team members to monitor project progression and ensure punctual deliverables, thereby reinstating trust in leadership.
Fiskars Group
Global Senior Product Manager | 10/2018 - 03/2023
• Hired, onboarded, and managed two new employees in the garden department. One was a seasoned product manager, and the other was a new assistant manager.
• Rapidly mobilized the team to contribute effectively to the business by analyzing categories, market trends, and business needs. Presented findings to leadership, facilitating the development of a comprehensive product roadmap.
• Out of these presentations, roadmap recommendations were given to executive leadership for execution that would bring in a new gross profit of over a million dollars in the first year of new products entering the market.
• Responsible for leading the development teams in new product development and restructuring of the garden business. Using strong relationship-building and influencing skills, I worked cross-functionally with teams (Engineering, Design, Project Management, Operations, Sales Planning, Marketing, and Brand) to harmonize the global portfolio and provide a path to product success.
• Ability to conceptualize and build a vision and influence others in completing tasks. Strong drive for quality results and ability to articulate ideas persuasively.
• Through the analysis of quantitative data, alongside evaluating market trends and consumer needs, I discerned that several ongoing projects needed to be more viable. My insights prevented expenditures of roughly 200K in capital and resources, averting investments that would not have yielded any sales benefits.
• Drove new product development by identifying white spaces in North America and Europe, increasing net sales by over $5+ million in year one while increasing profitability.
Dorel Sports
Global Senior Product Manager | 11/2008 - 10/2018
• Led department in business plans to drive the growth of major brands by building creative product vision, persuasive business cases, and design reviews for products carried by large retailers and independent dealers.
• I have used market research and consumer interactions to understand product roadmaps and drive financial success through accurate product forecasting and negotiation with manufacturers.
• Coached and mentored colleagues seeking to advance within the organization.
• Managed assistant product manager; as a team, we prepared and executed line reviews to companies such as Walmart, Target, Dicks Sporting Goods, and other mass markets retailers and higher-end global markets.
• Worked closely with elite athletes to develop new bikes that specifically meet their needs, then used that technology and trickled it down into bikes that all levels of consumers could purchase. This enabled Dorel Sports (Pacific Cycles) to increase sales by $3+ million.
• Traveled extensively to China and Taiwan to work closely with our manufacturers to deliver products on time on budget while prioritizing the company's profit goals.
• Worked with the marketing team to display and present new products at trade shows in the US and overseas markets.
• Led cross-functional teams in strategic planning and tactical execution of product launches in global markets.
Trek Bicycles
Global Product Manager | 02/2000 - 11/2008
• Oversaw the entire product development lifecycle for various bicycle accessories, emphasizing enhancing customer experience. By assessing market competition and position, I ensured the products met the acceptance criteria for consumer appeal. This approach not only boosted sales but also paved the way for entry into new product domains.
• I utilized qualitative data to gather and prioritize product requirements. By meticulously planning and executing, I collaborated with various departments to define and meet product specifications, ensuring timely delivery under the set deadlines.
• Developed business cases that considered pricing, competitive analysis, consumer needs/experiences, market research, and product definitions while balancing product tradeoffs on features, cost, consumer value, and positioning within the market. I then presented to senior leadership for approval to move forward.
• Collaborated with the Discovery Pro cycling team to gather user stories and feedback on saddles, water bottles, and cages. Using their insights, we refined our product portfolio and adjusted our product roadmap, enabling my product development team to deliver solutions that elevated the team's performance.
• First, to market with bicycle water bottles with a clear strip down the side so the consumer could see the amount of fluid left in the bottle to enhance the user experience.
• Developed a water bottle cage that decreased retailers' time installing cages, which freed their time to make additional aftermarket sales.
• Developed Trek’s first Carbon Fiber water bottle cage, brought in over 1 million dollars in net sales the first year at a 50% gross profit to Trek.
