I have been working in the Apparel industry full-time for almost 5 years (since June 2010). Prior to that I received a BA in Anthropology (2006), and then an AAS in Apparel Design while interning as a design assistant for 2 years (2008-2010). Directly out of design school I began working as an Assistant Designer at Zumiez Juniors Private Label. I have since worked as a Product Developer/Associate Designer at Coal Headwear. Along with my full-time jobs I have continued my own apparel line, Clear Coated (rainwear), building all aspects of the line such as creative design, technical design, pattern making, grading, sourcing, costing and marketing.
My overall goal is to be challenged and pushed in the apparel industry. In more detail, I find that continuing to work with a team, partake in line/design meetings and communicate with vendors, customers, etc are ways that my communication and team-building skills will continue to grow. Ongoing trend-shopping, sketching, color-scheming and practicing color theory will help my keen eye stay apt to the marketplace and the current and upcoming trends. Technical pattern-making, sewing construction and problem-solving skills will be kept strong through fittings, creating specifications and conceptualizing new designs. Product development and sourcing skills will aid in getting to the optimal end product. 
Objective: Utilize my skills as a well-rounded designer to reach brand goals, as a company, a team, an aesthetic.
