• $15B Hedge Fund: Recruited to clean up financial records and prepare company for planned IPO converting accounting records to US GAAP. Overhauled entire accounting, reporting and operational systems within the first 6 months to include preparation of all SEC required documents (S-1) and other regulatory filings.
• $4B Public Worldwide Advertising Agency: Recruited to identify and remediate global impact of 5-year restatement process under GAAP. Provided financial executive leadership and guidance to 25 country controllers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Assessed enterprises and business unit accounting practices, systems and processes, internal controls and SOX compliance. Initially recruited as Global ERP Project Consultant to lead the design and implementation of the Company’s new Global ERP system (JD Edwards). Quickly improved implementation structure and accelerated system launch date, earning Treasurers position offer from CFO.
DIRECTOR OF MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS
• Implemented new analytics and metrics based forecasting tool and process allowing real time fact-based cash flow decision-making. Identified target acquisitions and supervised due diligence team, including legal and auditing as head of the acquisition team.
• Oversaw valuation and due diligence for acquisition of two complementary companies. Directed the merger, consolidation and centralization into operating subsidiaries, resulting in per annum savings of $2M while driving significant incremental revenue.
CORPORATE TREASURER
Took over Treasurer role while retaining responsibilities as Corporate Controller. Led cash management and forecasting, facilities and insurance management, capital allocation and budgeting, credit facilities and investor and banking relationships.
• Negotiated and managed a new syndicated $110M credit facility under favorable rates and terms ensuring ongoing covenant compliance and greater flexibility for future growth.
• Developed hedging strategies for purchases and customer contracts, limiting financial exposure to fluctuations between the US and Canadian dollar benefiting the company by over $5M in cost savings.
• Negotiated with major international banks for capital leasing lines of credit to facilitate the acquisition of capital expenditures for equipment at below market rates. Increased credit facilities availability 3-fold from $25M to over $75M
CORPORATE CONTROLLER
