Strategic Relationship Management: Responsible for maintaining and growing corporate relationships including sponsorships, partnerships, event planning, and coordinating fundraising events. Responsible for soliciting donations from corporate donors and corporate partners. Increased amount of in-kind donations significantly for winter programs.
Gear Inventory Management: Manage gear inventory at headquarters in Eagle County. Manage, coordinate and fill gear needs across locations. Restructured inventory system during the 2014-2015 winter season for a more organized space and incorporated a counting system for ease in providing needed gear to other SOS offices.
PR/Media: Write press releases and co-manage SOS social media channels, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds, and LinkedIn group discussions ("SOS Outreach Supporters"). Implemented a cohesive social media plan resulting in a 20% increase of followers on Facebook, and 30% increase of followers on Instagram and Twitter. Have coordinated features on SOS in Vail Daily, Summit Daily and Leadville Today. Responsible for event postings across Eagle County, Summit County and Front Range. Coordinate photo shoots during program days.
Fundraising: Manage fundraisers with corporate partners locally, and assist in management of national fundraising efforts.
Programs: Co-manage the SOS Masters Program, which combines unique opportunities for community engagement and service learning, peer mentoring, and a monthly leadership development workshop for highschool aged at-risk youth. I facilitate workshops for sixteen 14-18 year olds through this program and act as their mentor.
Scheduling: Responsible for booking venues for all events associated with SOS Programs in Eagle County throughout the calendar year.
Events: Team leader for SIA tradeshow. Prepared schedule of meetings with new and potential corporate sponsors, then managed a team of 11 SOS staff members to successfully carry them out.
Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes
Ape Behavior Research Intern | 09/2012 - 06/2013
Conducted social spacing data collection on the chimpanzee and gorilla groups at the Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes, at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, IL.
Poster Presenter at the 36th Meeting of the American Socitey of Primatologists: Presented preliminary findings (~4 months of data) on the behavioral development of a bachelor gorilla group following their introduction at The Lincoln Park Zoo. Included an Abstract and poster presentation. Co-authored by Steven Ross, Ph.D and Marisa Shender. Data collection was performed and analyzed at the Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Additional responsibilities included: monitoring the nursing behavior of two newborn gorillas; coding videos from the Goualougo Triangle Ape Project (GTAP); conducting visitor surveys about perceptions of our gorilla cognition program; videotaping experiment sessions with chimpanzees; answering questions raised by visitors; co-managing electronic scholarly article database.
