Self-employed
Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Design Consultant | 01/2013 - Current
In addition to running my lifestyle brand, Little Arrow, I collaborated with small and medium-sized businesses to create their branding, websites, and custom merchandise. I also designed wedding stationery and worked with over 200 brides nationwide on their invitations, day-of signage, menus, and other printed reception décor.
Litle Arrow
User Interface Designer | 01/2013 - Current
Designing the eCommerce website for my business was my introduction to UI Design. I enjoyed the process so much I decided to earn certification by completing the UI Design Program at Career Foundry. For the Litle Arrow website, I designed the wireframes, icons, buttons, and other brand assets. I then hired website developers to code it on the Shopify platform.
Little Arrow
Founder, Creative Art Director, Graphic Designer, Illustrator | 01/2013 - Current
Little Arrow is a lifestyle brand I created to address a gap in the accessories market. The line has sold at over 300 shops nationwide and has been featured in OK! Magazine, A Beautiful Mess, Apartment Therapy, Nylon, and Refinery29. As a graphic designer, illustrator, founder, and freelancer-turned-UI/UX Designer, I have a vast amount of experience and consider myself expertly skilled in many areas, giving me a well-rounded portfolio. Career highlights at Little Arrow include:
• Envisioned and executed the Little Arrow brand guide, including hand-lettering the logo.
• Forecasted industry trends and utilized reports to develop new product concepts.
• Created original art and production-ready files.
• Established relationships with factories and oversaw the production of collections.
• Succeeded at generating top sellers out of 90% of the products created for Little Arrow.
• Demonstrated high demand by repeatedly selling out of inventory.
• Awarded Best New Product in the Life / Style category at the 2018 National Stationery Show.
• Accelerated growth by launching a wholesale catalog and forming a B2B sales channel.
PhotoTidings
Creative Art Director | 09/2008 - 11/2012
PhotoTidings was a photo greeting card company that created templates designed by an in-house art department and sold to photo centers nationwide. Clients included Walmart, Costco, Eckerd, Walgreens, and over 500 independently owned photo labs nationwide. My responsibilities included:
• Executed the PhotoTidings logo redesign.
• Assisted in the website redesign.
• Formulated and produced seasonal card collections for all clients.
• Developed concept, design, and illustration for greeting cards and other products.
• Supervised and mentored a small team of Graphic Designers.
• Generated all sketched thumbnails of art and delegated execution to the design team.
• Organized client projects and planned quarterly presentations.
• Instituted systems and regulations regarding quality control, file organization, and storage.
• Annually redesigned the tradeshow booth and oversaw the build-out.
Freelance
Graphic Designer | 07/2006 - 09/2009
While I had a full-time day job designing greeting cards, I did some freelance design projects on the side. Most notably I designed the logo and original brand package for Ninkasi Brewing Company.
PhotoTidings
Graphic Designer | 08/2000 - 09/2008
In August of 1999, I started at PhotoTidings by answering phones and packaging orders. After a year I was approached by one of the owners who created all the art for their greeting card line. She took me under her wing and invited me to work in the art department. It was there I learned Graphic Design and honed my skills as an artist and designer. When the owner retired I took her place as Creative Art Director.
