Product Development Manager

Engineering & Production

Kris Guzman is currently working as a Product Development Manager at Craftwork Design Co.

Kris has previously worked as a Production Coordinator at Forever 21 for graphic tees. She was a Product Coordinator at Fringe Studio for specialty products for key retail accounts. Her other experiences include working on fine fashion jewelry with some of the top name brands in the industry. She also interned for brands such as GUESS? and Laila Jayde.
 
Kris studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising at the Los Angeles and Irvine campuses. After graduating from FIDM in September 2014, she obtained her Associate of Arts Degree in Merchandise Product Development with an emphasis in Technical Design.
 
Her willingness to work with both the creative and business sides of fashion have made Kris an open minded person, thriving in completion of challenges that present itself in her work. She enjoys her work and is enthusiastic about her future in Product Development.

• Supervise apparel and hard goods product development and production for diverse brands/clients
• Present on trend product concepts/collections that elevate the brand’s ecommerce assortment
• Obtain price quotes, prepare buys, create purchase orders, and maintain deliveries/timelines
• Establish new and valuable partnerships with screen printers, embroiderers, and vendors
• Manage blank sourcing and reordering/restocking for the in-house on demand print program

• Led programs and projects related to apparel merchandise in the gaming lifestyle industry
• Managed product creation, sourcing, manufacturing, tech packs, and POS
• Communicated product process flow and timelines with internal/external designers and vendors
• Conveyed production strategies and business status to internal/external partners with WIP reports
• Organized and maintained trim and blank library

Production Coordinator

• Assisted in the development of new products that represented the brand and design aesthetic
• Created and established a tracking process to improve the flow of the sample process
• Arranged various spreadsheets that included project line plans and item set up

Product Coordinator

• Developed new styles and made improvements to the existing merchandise SKUs

Product Developer (Freelance)

• Ensured production requirements such as colors, trims, fabric quality, and fit were met
• Coordinated proto to TOP samples by sending comments, approvals, and updates
• Negotiated garment cost based on fabric, artwork, volume, and style
• Confirmed purchase order details (delivery dates, pricing, quantity) were accurate

• Analyzed new projects and consulted with the customer for any design, timing, and pricing issues
• Reviewed that the needs of the buyer from sample requests to production orders were met

Product Development Assistant

• Commented on fabrics, lab dips, and strike-offs with overseas vendors

Product Development Intern

• Created tech packs, updated fabrics and trimmings library, and relayed technical and creative ideas to head designer
