As Assistant Manager, I was expected to partner with the store manager in managing and coordinating the daily operations of the store, allocating daily activities of the sales staff, maximizing sales and building a high performing sales team, as well as responsible for working closely with clients and providing an exceptional shopping experience that reflects the quality and reputation of Tumi.

I was responsible for all business aspects of the store in the presence and absence of the Store Manager. These include but were not limited to: sales culture, driving sales, training employees, and store visuals. I was also responsible for normal operating functions such as opening and closing, cash control, weekly updates, and payroll.

I was responsible for all aspects of maintaining my department while keeping sales, customers, and merchandising a priority. I utilized sales reports to identify trends and opportunities for growth as well as oversaw the other employees in my department. I was also expected to perform overall store duties, which included but were not limited to supervision of the sales floor, hiring and training new employees, and customer service.
