Over the past several years, I have gained valuable experience in a variety of areas within Sports Management: Business, Marketing, Finance, and Sales. Grand Canyon University provided opportunities to learn from some of the best within professional sports; including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Phoenix Coyotes, and Major League Baseball.
Most recently, I had the opportunity to serve as a Sports Management Intern for the Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Club within their Community Relations department. This role enabled me to gain valuable knowledge in the areas of Event Planning, Fundraising, Community Outreach, and day-to-day operations of a professional sports team. 
     In addition to my for-profit experience, I have been able to manage various sports programs within the non-profit area as well. During the last 3 years, I have worked for the Y.M.C.A. of Orange County and currently in the role of Sports Coordinator. This role includes the following responsibilities: organization of youth and adult sport programs, the production and execution of marketing plans, overall staff management, strict budget management, and other supporting tasks as needed by the organization.

o	Implemented & managing all aspects of Physical Education programs for 3 local Elementary Schools
o	Develop & execute all sports programs
o	Research & create marketing plans to increase revenue for all sports programs (achieved 25% increase)
o	Hire & train sports staff and volunteer coaches

o	Consistently averaged top 5 in sales per game ($1,800 average per game) 
o	Generated $42,000 in revenue over 22 games  
o	Educated fans on the details of the 50/50 raffle program
o	Actively approached fans to sell raffle tickets

50/50 Representative

o	Assisted the Manager of Community Affairs in day-to-day operations
o	Managed and processed incoming donation requests
o	Assisted in fundraising events including golf tournaments and team autograph sessions
o	Reconciled an average of $20,000 in cash donations generated via 50/50 raffle each game

Community Relations Intern

o	Attended to Guests’ needs, requests, and questions quickly and professionally
o	Insured the safety and the enjoyment of guest attending Diablo Stadium

Guest Services (Diablo Stadium)

- On-site superviser for each program
- Work individually with the participants to teach, encourage and challenge them

Sports Director

o	Averaged over $250 in merchandise sold per hour 
o	Exceeded all sales quotas
