Halyard Health

Design Manager | 01/2013 - Current

(Formerly Kimberly-Clark Healthcare) Manage Industrial Design function, strategy and resources for six business platforms. Lead development of brand and category design vision for Halyard Healthcare: -- Help to tap into global business and innovation opportunities through consumer/user observations within working healthcare venues and procedures. -- Partner with project teams to develop research plans, design strategies and execution plans. Created an “ID toolbox” which provided greater creative process monitoring and controls for a highly regulated healthcare market. -- Implement design strategies that inspire product initiatives and points of user/patient engagement. Introduced new tools which provide measurable criteria to early concepts as they relate back to customer needs. In addition, integrate user and business case needs into storyboard for early identification of conflicting design requirements. -- Manage deployment of design processes, resources, tools, and best practices -- Direct and manage design agencies. Integrated best practices in Industrial Design with PMI practices to allow for greater transparency and measurement of progress throughout design process. Tools provide agencies and cross-functional resources with greater clarity on SOW and how deliverables ladder into other project work streams. -- Design, build, ideate, and create new product designs, helping to develop product branding and attributes that create new to the world user experiences. Managed effort to create new Halyard brand guidelines which provide high level direction while allowing business franchises ability to develop specific experiences/element for their target markets/users. -- Engage with the larger design community, demonstrating thought leadership in industrial and healthcare design. Active participant in IDSA; selected as panel member to discuss early career development in front of students from SCAD, Georgia Tech and Auburn.
